When to Pause, Adapt, or Seek Guidance

Contraindications for Facial Reflexology, Zone Face Lift™ & Foot Reflexology

At Nurturing Touch Reflexology Ltd, each treatment is created to restore calm, balance, and wellbeing. Because your health and safety are always my first priority, there are times when it’s best to postpone a session or seek guidance from your healthcare provider before booking.

Please take a moment to read through the following information — and know that you can always contact me for advice or reassurance before your appointment.

Please avoid or postpone treatment if you are:

  • Experiencing contagious skin infections or notifiable diseases
  • Suffering from cellulitis, fever, or a raised body temperature
  • Experiencing acute or undiagnosed pain
  • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Awaiting or about to undergo medical tests or procedures (to avoid affecting test results or outcomes)
  • Recovering from recent surgery, injury, or fractures — especially in the face, feet, or areas being treated
  • Living with open wounds, inflammation, or infections (including athlete’s foot, verrucae, cold sores, or conjunctivitis)
  • Undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy, unless with written consent from your consultant
  • Within the first trimester of pregnancy (some treatments can be adapted safely later in pregnancy if appropriate)
  • Experiencing uncontrolled high blood pressure, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), or acute inflammation
  • Prone to severe migraines, nerve damage, or recent head, facial, or foot trauma
  • Living with serious or unstable medical conditions such as epilepsy, heart disease, or cancer, without GP approval

Please let me know before your session if you have:

  • Sensitive or reactive skin, eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea, cystic acne
  • Recent facial fillers, Botox, or cosmetic treatments (please allow 3–4 weeks before Facial Reflexology or Zone Face Lift™)
  • Circulatory issues, swelling, or poor wound healing
  • Diabetes, particularly if you experience neuropathy or reduced sensation in the feet
  • Recent dental work, sinus infections, or jaw tension
  • Metal implants, pacemakers, or other medical devices
  • Emotional stress, anxiety, or trauma that may make deep relaxation challenging — treatments can always be adapted gently to meet your needs

Your Comfort Comes First

Each session begins with a thorough consultation to ensure the treatment fully supports your wellbeing. Reflexology and holistic therapies work best when your body feels safe, relaxed, and ready to receive.

If you are ever unsure whether a treatment is suitable, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we’ll find the most supportive and nurturing approach for where you are right now.

A full list of product ingredients used during my treatments is available either digitally or as a booklet in my garden studio, please request a copy if you have any allergies.

Important Note on Bookings

For your safety and wellbeing, treatments may be postponed or cancelled if any of the above conditions are present or disclosed during your consultation.
If you arrive for your appointment without declaring a contraindication that makes treatment unsuitable, the session will be cancelled and charged in full, as the time has been reserved exclusively for you.
